Who we are...
We are Jamie Campbell and Michael Foster- trainers, writers, and comedians with over 20 years of improv experience . Improvisation is our passion, our creative outlet, and our business. We are firm believers in the usefulness of improv and its infinite applications. It doesn't hurt that it is an absolute blast.
Michael Foster has a background in theatre, education, sales, management, and over 10 years of doing improv professionally. Foster has worked locally with the KC Improv Company in numerous roles. As the director of the KCIC Training Center, Michael instructed all levels of classes, developed curriculum, and consistently grew student enrollment and the number of class offerings. During his tenure, student enrollment grew by over 150%. As KCIC's general manager, Foster collaborated with advertising firms, non-profits, educators, and other teams to design and coordinate goal-oriented workshops and private shows. He has created customized curricula covering "Yes, And", communication, public speaking, active listening, empathy, team cohesion, emotional intelligence, and confidence. Michael also originated the Unusual Suspects: An Improvised Murder Mystery, one of the KC Improv Company's most popular main stage formats to date. He is known for his support of fellow players and his ridiculous characters on stage.
Jamie Campbell has been teaching comedy and improvisation for over a decade to people from all walks of life, including Fortune 500 executives, at-risk youth, university students, incarcerated convicts, and at comedy festivals throughout the United States. He is an award winning playwright, director, and comedian. He was named Chicago’s “Best Stand-Up Comedian” by The Chicago Reader and was specially-selected by the sister of the late Andy Kaufman to perform at the TBS Just For Laughs Festival. His comedy album, Tell Me You’re Proud of Me debuted at #1 on Amazon’s comedy charts. You may recognize him from his appearances in numerous commercials or his roles on NBC’s Chicago Fire and PopTV’s Hollywood Darlings. Jamie has a strong and diverse background in theatre, writing, improvisation, stand-up comedy, and public speaking. His personal teaching philosophy is to focus on the positive, believing that the first step in becoming a great performer is having someone believe in you, so that you can believe in yourself!
